Caring for Your Jewellery
Each piece of jewellery created in my studio begins as an exploration of texture, material, and meaning. As it is worn, it naturally gathers the marks of time, touch, and experience.
With time, precious metals naturally change. This evolution is not a flaw — it is part of the life of a handmade piece.
Caring for Your Piece
To help preserve your jewellery, remove it before swimming, bathing, using hot tubs, or applying perfumes, lotions, and household products. Chemicals and moisture can affect precious metals and finishes over time.
When your jewellery is not being worn, storing it in a dry pouch or sealed container will help slow the natural oxidation of silver and preserve its original appearance.
A soft polishing cloth can gently refresh your jewellery when needed. Please take care with gemstones and intentional surface finishes, as these require a lighter touch.
The Beauty of Patina
Many pieces in my collections feature natural silver surfaces or carefully applied oxidized finishes. These finishes are designed to change gradually with wear.
Areas touched most often by skin and clothing will soften and brighten first, while textured and recessed areas will continue to hold their depth. Over time, your piece will develop a patina that is unique to you — a reflection of the moments and places it has accompanied you.
If you would ever like your jewellery refreshed or its original patina restored, please contact me. I would be happy to care for your piece and help bring it back to its original character.
Your jewellery was made to be worn, lived with, and become part of your story.
