Meet Christine
Growing up in Ontario, Christine spent countless hours exploring the forests and shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, collecting stones, shells, bits of beach glass, feathers, and intriguing manmade castoffs. These collected treasures, with their compelling textures, patterns, colours and histories are some of the main inspirations for her jewelry today.
Christine’s one of a kind and limited series designs are created from an array of precious metals, and precious and semiprecious gems. Stones are individually selected for their unique colours, cuts, and even character-rich imperfections. Gold contributes a luxurious warm and sunny colour, while silver provides either a dark oxidized or cool-toned lustre to the palette. Using the time-honoured techniques of the goldsmith, she fabricates each piece by hand, drawing further inspiration from the metal and stones. She also has a collaborative line of fine art precious metal and Venetian glass micro mosaic jewellery.
When she’s not in the studio, you’ll find her in her garden, or with her dogs and husband, exploring the city or somewhere in the woods or on a beach.
